About the Role
HARC seeks a bold, strategic, and mission-driven Executive Director to lead our next chapter of growth and impact. Youâll be the champion of our vision, the connector of our community, and the architect of our future. This is a unique leadership opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of nonprofit management, community partnerships, fundraising, and operations.
Youâll work hand-in-hand with HARCâs medical director, Board of Directors, and staff leadership team to steer the organization forward, scale our reach, and ensure that our clinical excellence continues to save lives every single day.
What Youâll Do
đ Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Drive long-term planning with the Board to fuel sustainable impact.
- Report regularly on our goals, finances, and progress.
- Lead annual strategy retreats and board development sessions.
đ„ Clinic Operations & Program Management
- Ensure high-quality, high-impact veterinary care across all services.
- Partner with our Medical Director to boost efficiency and service capacity.
- Track performance and implement quality assurance initiatives.
đž Financial Management
- Manage a $500K+ annual budget with transparency and fiscal discipline.
- Lead vendor and cash flow management.
- Streamline operations without compromising care.

- Lead and grow a diversified fundraising strategy.
- Personally steward major donors ($1,000+).
- Oversee grant writing and compliance ($75,000+ annually)
- Drive signature events, campaigns, and corporate partnerships.
đŁ Marketing & Communications
- Be the voice of HARC: in media, online, and in the community.
- Guide brand strategy in collaboration with marketing partners.
- Develop messaging for crisis response, PR, and public engagement.
đ„ Team Leadership & HR
- Attract and retain top-tier talent in a mission-first culture.
- Create professional development opportunities and manage performance.
- Shape and reinforce a values-driven workplace.
đŸ Rescue & Community Partnerships
- Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with rescue partners.
- Represent HARC at industry events, conferences, and policy roundtables.
- Expand networks with veterinary schools, government agencies, and advocacy coalitions.
What You Bring
Required
- 8+ years of non-profit leadership and fundraising experience in a mission-driven organization
- Bachelorâs degree (Masterâs preferred or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in fundraising ($150,000+ annually)
- Proven experience managing teams of 10+ and budgets of $500K+
- Passion for animal welfare and nonprofit service
- Veterinary/animal welfare background

What Youâll Get
Salary: $75,000â$85,000 (based on experience and fundraising history) with earning potential of $100,000+ for achieving fundraising goals
